It is such a therapeutic moment when I could pluck my ripe pineapple in my garden one Thursday afternoon (28, Nov 2019) and told myself, ‘yes, I did it. I reap what I sow.”
I was smiling from ear-to-ear seeing its yellowish golden fruit still in good intact not being eaten by the wild squirrels.
Earlier this year, I noticed some of the fruits were damaged and I knew the culprits were the squirrels who at one time I saw with my own eyes enjoying biting and munching happily some parts of the ripe banana.
“Well, you all carry on, but there won’t be any more next time, I would be faster than you,” I said to myself many moons ago.
I learned my lesson to never leave any ripe fruits for too long in the garden or else…
I really cherish moments well-spent in the nature; it gives me a kind of happiness and calmness. My garden is a place I find solace in.
Although I do not spend much time in the garden, but when I do, I make sure to have quality time ‘talking’ to my Moringa plants, Mulberry plants, some chilli and my beautiful swirling passion fruit plants.
My dear Keeper, a little dog when I first saw her, now she is a good companion and loyal to me, she loves looking around following me wherever I stop by to smell my flowers or plants.
I got my pineapple seedlings from Sibu, Sarawak when I visited there two years ago on an assignment to Pulau Bruit, a remote place in the district of Mukah, Sarawak.
We stopped by at one of the roadside stall to have a bite of the sweet pineapple. They gave us many seedlings to bring back. I took more than 10 and planted all around my garden.
It took years to bear fruit, I think I know why… I did not add any fertilizer into the soil.
Anyway, I am enjoying the fruit now, cheers everyone, pineapple is rich in vitamins, let’s eat fruits everyday, it gives us clear and healthy complexion.

I love pineapple. Spare one if you have more.
