Kimchi-making in Singapore

My love for Kimchi had led me to make it while I am travelling. Last week I was in Singapore visiting friends and had the opportunity to make a full loads of kimchi, thanks to my dear friend Jessie who was delighted enough to let me use her kitchen.

I discovered something while making it, that we do not need sugar for the fermentation as we can use fruits such as pear, apples for the sweetness, how wonderful, thanks to Jessie again for the tips.

We bought all ingredients at the grocery store and started to make it on my first day in the island, so that I would have the chance to have a bite on the fourth day before I left for KL.

It turned out well, except for one important seasoning, hahahaha, we forgot to add fish sauce in it , but Jessie said she was okay with the taste and need not add the sauce.

Anyway, I had great time making the kimchi with my childhood friend, thanks for the connection and re-bonding, it was one marvelous moment spending whole morning with her just to make kimchi. (14-19 December 2019 Singapore journey)

Christmas Cookies

This is definitely one of the best cookies I have tasted. Juddy is such a wonderful host, she let me sample her creation of cookies. .Indeed it was marvelous.

I took one bite and another one.. One after another, can’t stop biting and munching, goshhhh…

Anyway, it’s Christmas season, so why not… Have a merry, jolly good one, have more cookies for Christmas.

Coffee and Kimchi, anyone?

Never thought of combining the two, but I did it today at Secret Recipe. Not too bad. Plus meeting up with Marie Lee, a friend I was supposed to meet in Melbourne but did not manage to.

Coffee is a must but Kimchi?? Well, in this digital world, we can literally do or combine anything we want. We can have breakfast at night, or lunch in the day time. Who cares, right..

I still love Kimchi, and coffee is a must..

Christmas cakes…

The season is just around the corner, nothing beats the array of Christmas desserts, sweets, beautiful cakes, puddings and many more during this special occasion. I especially enjoy the Christmas fruitcake and the smell is heavenly when liquor is added to the cake.

I used to bake fruitcake many years ago, but hardly had the time now since writing takes place actively in my life.

Can’t wait for the Christmas cakes this time , anyway, this will be my first time spending Christmas not in town.

Cheers and have a happy holiday

Coffee brings us closer

A great day to celebrate our Sunday afternoon with so much laughter and delight. Met up with Azizah and Fenny and we talked and talked while sipping our coffee and of course the food.

Good to know Fenny is into her baking and Azizah never fails to impress m with her ever interesting thoughts about life.

Coffee is always the best companion no matter what mood we are in. My latte tasted so much better with chats coming from these two women.

I am inspire to write partly because of Azizah, who is full of colourful experiences about life . Will be recording some of her life journey in my second book.

Stay tuned…..

Thank you Jeremy!

Loving the day today at Starbucks. Jeremy spared his precious time helping me build up my blog site. Warned him how green I am in this thing, he said, take it easy, everything will turn out good if we are patient enough.

Thanks Jeremy for this ‘start-up’, going to explore more in my own time and world soon.

While enjoying our coffee, I had learned so much from that more than 2 hours with him.

Cheers and see you for the next session.

Meanwhile, anyone who would like to get assistance from Jeremy, he can be reached at 016-8103887, his charges is very reasonable.
